Dear Colleagues –
As of earlier this afternoon, the number of spaces available for returning students in the Housing Sign-Up process has been exhausted for the 2025-2026 academic year. We will send the following email this afternoon - https://emails.illinois.edu/newsletter/81/1575958581.html - to notify students the process is now closed and students should place themselves on the waitlist if they are interested in a residence hall space for next year.
Students who have successfully chosen a space in the Housing Sign-Up process have 30 days to confirm their assignment. We know we will get some cancellations but it is not guaranteed we will have room for individuals on the waitlist. If we do, individuals will be contacted in the order they placed themselves on the waitlist. Therefore, the best thing students can do who want a space is to place themselves on the waitlist as soon as possible.
This is the first year we have limited the number of spaces available for returning students in Housing Sign-Up as we need to make room for the incoming class (target is 8700-9000 students). This is also the first time we have closed the process before the end of October.
If you get any questions or concerns, please encourage students and/or families to contact the Housing Information Office at housing@illinois.edu or 217.333.7111. If you have any questions, please contact Mari Anne Brocker Curry, Director of Housing Information & Marketing or myself.
Many thanks for your assistance in sharing this information.
