Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to announce that Scott Genung has agreed to serve as Interim CIO. In early February, Scott was named acting interim CIO and he will continue in this position. Previously, he served as Deputy CIO of IT Operations.
As stated in my previous message, Scott has over 30 years of experience in higher education IT. Before coming to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, he served in a variety of leadership roles at the University of Chicago, the University of Oregon and Illinois State University.
Scott’s steady approach will serve Technology Services and the university well as we continue to deal with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to advance our world-class education and research activities.
Please join me in thanking Scott for his continued dedication to the mission of Technology Services and his willingness to serve in this critical leadership role.
