Dear Colleagues,
The university has implemented the Family Neonatal Intensive Care Leave (NICU Leave) in accordance with the Illinois Family Neonatal Intensive Care Leave Act (Public Act 104-0259), effective June 1, 2026.
This leave provides eligible employees with job-protected, unpaid leave to care for a child receiving treatment in a neonatal intensive care unit. Benefits continuation and employee protections apply as outlined in the Act and on the System HR website.
