  Illinois RN Licenses expire 5/31/2024.

  All students are required to upload their 2024-26 Illinois Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license to CastleBranch no later than Monday, June 10, 2024.

  Types of documentation to upload to CastleBranch:

  • PDF of 2024-26 Illinois RN license certificate (PDF under 5 MB)
  • Photo of entire 2024-26 Illinois RN license certificate [Clear JPG (photo) file under 5 MB]
  • PDF of ‘Proof of Licensure’ (Directions below)

  1. Go to IDFPR’s Search for a License
  2. For License Type: select NURSING BOARD
  3. Enter information (e.g., License Number, First Name, Last Name, City)
  4. Enter CAPTCHA information
  5. Click on Search
  6. Find your name and click on Detail
  7. Click on Print
  8. Save ‘Lookup Detail View’ as PDF
  9. Upload PDF to CastleBranch

  How long will it take to get my 2024-26 RN license?
  Please allow the IDFPR 2-4 business days for your application to post in their systems and your license status to update. Questions or concerns about Illinois RN renewals: Contact the IDFPR Call Center at 800-560-6420.

  Do I need to upload my license if I graduate in May 2024?
  No, graduating students do not need to upload their 2024-26 RN license.

  Do I need to upload license if I graduate in May 2024, but return as a DNP or PhD student in August 2024?
  Yes, upload your 2024-26 RN license and continue updating your CastleBranch account as usual with no interruption.

  There is no link in CastleBranch to upload my 2024-26 Illinois RN License.
  Link might not be open yet. You may contact Heather Sadilek, hsadilek@uic.edu to open link early or upload starting around May 15, 2024.

  I cannot upload my document to CastleBranch. My document froze while uploading.

  What happens if I do not upload my 2024-26 Illinois RN License by Monday, June 10, 2024?

  • Non-compliant, current students will be placed on a ‘Compliance College-Specific’ hold on Monday, June 10, 2024, and restricted from fall 2024 clinicals and/or spring 2025 registration.
  • Since the RN license is a mandatory College of Nursing requirement, there will be no extensions.

  • If a current student does not upload to CastleBranch, their program director will be notified on Tuesday, June 11, 2024
  • Incoming students will need to upload their 2024-26 Illinois RN license to CastleBranch by Tuesday, August 6, 2025.
