Congratulations to Special Education Ph.D. candidate Mia Chudzik on receiving the Outstanding Graduate Student Award at the 2024 Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Convention & Expo.
Each year, the CEC recognizes an undergraduate and a graduate student who has made outstanding contributions to service to CEC and children with exceptionalities. The 2024 Outstanding Graduate Student Member Award recipients receive complimentary registration, a $500 travel stipend, and be recognized and receive a commemorative plaque at the Awards Luncheon.
Mia is a two-time graduate of the College of Education, where she received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Early Childhood Special Education. Prior to starting the doctoral program, she worked as an inclusive early childhood teacher and as a developmental therapist in early intervention in the Chicago suburbs. Her research interests include trauma-informed practices across early childhood settings.
