Congratulations to Magen Rooney-Kron, Ph.D '12 SPED, on receiving the Early Career Research Award from TASH at their Annual Conference.
Rooney-Kron is an assistant professor of Inclusive Education at the University of Missouri St. Louis. Her research focuses on promoting the participation of students with extensive support needs in high-quality work-based learning experiences that lead to competitive, integrated employment. She is also interested in understanding how policy initiatives, such as the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, can be leveraged to promote the transition of students with disabilities from school to work.
The TASH Early Research Award is designed to honor the contributions of early career researchers. To be eligible for this award, nominees must have been active in the field for less than ten years after receiving their advanced graduate degree. The recipient of this award will have a clearly defined research agenda focused on the inclusion of people with significant support needs in the community and demonstrate the potential to impact practice, policy, and future research about the inclusion of people with significant support needs.
