Joseph Robinson-Cimpian, an associate professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, recently gave a presentation and was a panelist at two events in Washington, D.C.
Robinson-Cimpian was one of three presenters at the April 7 “What Does ESSA Mean for English Learners and Accountability” talk, which was hosted by the American Institutes for Research. The policy researchers at the event shared their latest work on English learners, covering educational trajectories, classification and reclassification, and incorporation into accountability systems. The speakers also recommended policies and action for states and districts related to these topics.
Robinson-Cimpian was also one of six distinguished panelists at the prestigious AERA Centennial Plenary on April 8, “Discovering Our Past, Creating Our Future,” which was a special celebration of AERA’s 100 years.
