Congratulations to Ashley M. Davis, Visiting Coordinator for Undergraduate Recruitment and Career Services, who is the recipient of the first ever Advocate Award, part of the larger Strive Awards from the Illinois Women's Resource Center (WRC). Ms. Davis is also a lecturer in the School of Music. She has been a prolific advocate for gender equity in her many roles at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she received both her Bachelor and Master’s degrees.
One of Ms. Davis’ colleagues and nominators wrote, “[Ashley] has done incredible work in the College of Education, striving for more gender diversity representation in teacher recruitment. Working with Ashley has shown me what it means to be consistent, hard-working, and most importantly, how to fight for what is right, and that is why Ashley deserves this award.” We couldn’t agree more!
The Strive Awards, a celebration of gender equity, are named by the WRC during Women's History Month.
