  • Suratt Scholarship

    The Anne Elizabeth Suratt Memorial Scholarship Fund is designated for juniors, seniors or fifth year undergraduates. Applicants must be of junior, senior or fifth year status in the Fall 2018 semester. Preference is also given to students with demonstrated financial need. In addition, students must demonstrate vision, perseverance and enthusiasm for his/her chosen field.     The Syracuse University Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Research Program is a paid summer research opportunity that provides undergraduate scholars with the opportunity to work with distinguished faculty and staff as well as network with others in their field of interest. Student scholars have the opportunity to conduct and present research over a ten-week period under the direction of a faculty research mentor at Syracuse University.

    Through this program, scholars will gain theoretical knowledge and practical training in academic research and scientific experimentation. The SU LSAMP research program was developed to aid in the retention of historically underrepresented groups in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

    The 2023 Summer REU program will be June 5-August 11.

  • The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program

    Application process begins in August - Deadline is January 15, 2014!

    Funded by a $1.6 billion grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, GMS was established in 1999, as a twenty year commitment, to provide greater access and opportunity to higher education for outstanding students from underrepresented backgrounds (1,000 selected each year; 20,000 in 20 year commitment). 

     

  • The HACIA Scholarship Foundation is accepting applications through January 20, 2023

    The HACIA Scholarship & Education Foundation has established an undergraduate scholarship award for Hispanic students enrolled in an accredited university or college institution in curriculums related to the construction, architectural, or engineering fields of study.  Applicants should either reside in the Chicagoland area or attend a local Chicagoland area university.

    Since they have received a low number of applications for this year, the foundation has  extended the deadline to FRIDAY, JANUARY 20, 2023.

  • THE HACIA Scholarship Foundation is Currently Accepting Applications 2023

    The HACIA Scholarship & Education Foundation has established an undergraduate scholarship award for or Hispanic students enrolled in an accredited university or college institution in curriculums.  The Scholarship Committee will be selecting candidates for a monetary award of $5,000 to be used toward college costs.  Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and enrolled in an Engineering, Building and Construction Technology or Architectural curriculum.  Applications will be subject to verification.  Inaccurate information may be cause for disqualification.

    To receive the fullest consideration, Scholarship Applications must be either via email or postmarked by Friday, November 18, 2022.  Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

  • The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) Scholar Program

    Every year, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) selects 10,000 outstanding students as HSF Scholars from a broad and talented pool of applicants.  HSF Scholars have access to a full range of invaluable Scholar Support Services, including career services, mentorship, leadership development, knowledge building, and wellness training.

  • The Illinois Club Scholarships

    The Illinois Club provides scholarships to outstanding students in the areas of global studies, humanities and social sciences, science and engineering, education, and art.  Eligible students are undergraduates at UIUC who will have earned at least 60 credit hours by the Spring 2024 semester and expect to graduate no earlier than December 2024.  A minimum GPA of 3.0 is also expected.

    The application deadline is 5:00 p.m., October 14, 2023.

Yet when you look at what the now more than 3,300 Truman Scholars have achieved, our risk-taking is paying off.

  • Truman Scholarship: An Opportunity for Illini Who Want to Change the World

    The prestigious Harry S. Truman Scholarship is available to College Juniors who are U.S. citizens with a record of strong academic work, leadership, community service, and commitment to a career in public service.  The scholarship awards $30,000 for use toward a graduate degree in public service fields.  Public service includes government, uniformed services, public interest organizations, non-governmental research or educational organizations, public and private schools, and other non-profit organizations.  Recipients of the scholarship are required to work in public service for three of the seven years following completion of a Foundation-funded graduate degree program; this is a non-negotiable condition of receiving funding.

    Application Deadline: The campus deadline for submission is November 6, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.

    The UC Berkeley College of Engineering is hosting its sixth annual Engineering Preview Day, April 10-13, 2019. This 3 day event is for students who intend to pursue a PhD in engineering and plan to apply this coming fall. Preview Day provides students the opportunity to meet individually with engineering faculty in their discipline, socialize with Berkeley graduate students, network with campus research centers and Bay Area National Labs.     Mean, Green Recycling Machines: Undergraduate Scholarship Competition

    The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) is hosting a research-based challenge for undergraduate students! The challenge is for students to develop a website on plastic recycling. Students will research their schools’ current process for recycling plastic and then design/create a strategy to make the process more efficient. Thorough submissions will include further research on the plastic recycling process, benefits of current recycling methods, and process improvement ideas. Your website could win you a $5,000 scholarship!

    The deadline for this competition is Tuesday, November 30, 2021, and winners will be announced in late December.
