  • Artist uses location, weather and other data to create sculptural landscapes

Stephen Cartwright creates sculptural landscapes from data he collects about himself and his environment. Here, he’s seen with a log book he uses to record data such as latitude and longitude; one of his “Floating Data” sculptures, with a colorful wave in a block of plexiglass representing a data set he’s collected; and a model of latitude and longitude coordinates he’s collected over time, on the paper on the table in front of him.
