  • Editor’s notes:
Lupas and her colleagues are involved in a project – led by Illinois Natural History Survey principal veterinary epidemiologist Nohra E. Mateus-Pinilla and in cooperation with professor Jan E. Novakofski –  that explores the susceptibility and resistance of white-tailed deer to chronic wasting disease and the transmission of the disease from mothers to their offspring. The researchers test samples from deer harvested by Illinois Department of Natural Resources biologists and hunters in Illinois.

The headline is an homage to Aretha Franklin’s song “Ever Changing Times”
