Geophysics Field Technician (Hourly)

We are seeking undergraduate or graduate students to participate in acquiring and processing geophysical data during the summer 2022 field season. Conduct field work, download data, perform processing, utilize GIS software to prepare maps of field locations, digitize and process archived geophysical data, and assist with other geophysical and/or geologic field projects. Position is based in Champaign, Illinois.
Qualifications: Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, preferably in geology, geophysics, geography, or related discipline. Must be an independent worker. Must also work well in a team. Must be available for field work throughout the state and lab work on campus, but the position may also allow remote work for office-related tasks when appropriate. Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel throughout the state for four or five consecutive days at a time (at the expense of the project). Some background in geophysics will be helpful, but it is not required. Training on use of specific geophysical equipment will be provided.
Work up to 40 hours per week at $12 per hour.
