Crystal Williams, a doctoral student in Special Education, has been awarded the J. David Sexton Doctoral Student Award from the Division of Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children.
Williams was chosen for her work and commitment to advancing evidence-based practices that support young children and their families who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities.
The J. David Sexton Doctoral Student Award is in honor of Sexton's passionate commitment to doctoral leadership preparation. David was revered as an outstanding mentor by those who were fortunate to learn from and with him. The Sexton Award is given to a doctoral student who embodies the leadership characteristics David possessed and worked unselfishly to nurture others.
Williams will be recognized at the DEC Award Ceremony on November 28th in Minneapolis, MN.
