Marlee Bunch, '22 Ed.D. EPOL, will return to Champaign to participate in two conversations about Culturally Responsive Classrooms.
Bunch will participate in a conversation with award-winning audio journalist Kennedy Vincent at the Illini Union Bookstore on Wednesday, November 6, from 4 to 5 p.m. The conversation will explore Bunch's new book, The Magnitude of Us: An Educator’s Guide to Creating Culturally Responsive Classrooms. She will also host a conversation at The Literary bookstore in downtown Champaign.
Dr. Bunch's experiences teaching at the secondary and post-secondary levels have allowed her to write curriculum, mentor teachers, create workshops, advocate for equity and justice, and, most importantly, support students. Her research, teaching, and educational advocacy work seek to disrupt inequities, advocate for educational reform, and illuminate the power of storytelling and history. Her research focuses on the oral histories of Black female educators. She is the founder of the un/HUSH teaching framework.
Bunch's conversation at the Illini Union Bookstore is free to attend, but registration is required.
