James D. Anderson, Dean, made the following announcement in an email to all College of Education faculty, staff, and graduate students:
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Nancy Latham has agreed to serve the College of Education as the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Executive Director of the Council on Teacher Education (CoTE).
As a research associate professor with strong leadership experience, Dr. Latham is highly qualified to assume this new role. She has done remarkable work as the Executive Director of COTE since joining the college in 2018. She represents the College of Education with ISBE, and is involved in numerous state task forces, steering committees and leadership teams. Nancy is currently leading the statewide initiative to revise the Illinois Professional Teaching Standards to a competency model. As a member of the executive leadership team she provides valuable information and insights into state legislative activities. Dr. Latham is engaged and well versed in the college’s academic concerns and culture; she herself is an outstanding teacher, earnestly committed to students. She is knowledgeable of policies and procedures, and the need for active recruitment and retention of a talented and diverse undergraduate population.
Please join me in welcoming Dr. Latham to this new role!
