Nidia Ruedas-Gracia, assistant professor of Educational Psychology, has co-written a chapter in a new book focusing on student success at Hispanic-serving institutions.
The chapter is titled "Latinx First-Year First-Generation College Students Mentoring Experiences with Faculty at Hispanic-Serving Institutions." It was co-written with Rafael R. Almanzar of Texas State University.
The chapter explores the mentoring experiences of Latinx first-year first-generation college students at a Hispanic-serving institution, emphasizing the pivotal role of faculty mentorship to those students and the barriers that they face.
