A new report from the Illinois Workplace and Education Research Collaborative (IWERC) and The Illinois Association of Regional Superintendents of Schools (IARSS) examines Illinois' teacher shortages over the last year.
While the report found that the total number of filled positions increased, supply has not kept up with demand, and the number of unfilled positions has also increased. Overall, 91% of school leaders surveyed indicated a minor, serious, or very serious problem with teacher shortages.
IWERC staff include Director Meg Bates '04 Ed.M. '09 Ph.D. EPSY, and Judith Kom Nguiffo, a Ph.D. candidate in EPOL. You can read the full report here.
