James D. Anderson, Dean, made the following announcement in an email to all College of Education faculty, staff, and graduate students:
I am extremely pleased to announce that Dr. Karla Möller will be the next Associate Dean for Graduate Programs in the College of Education.
Dr. Möller has a rich background in leadership roles, as well as in the challenges and opportunities for graduate students. She served as the associate head for graduate programs in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction for several years, and has served as an elected member of the Graduate College Executive Committee. She has provided valuable leadership to the college during her two elected terms on the College Executive Committee.
Not only is she well-versed in the college’s academic concerns and culture, but she is also versed in campus level issues. Dr. Möller was an invited member of the Provost’s Task Force on Evaluating Teaching Effectiveness and has served two terms as an elected member of the Faculty Senate. She is a service-orientated leader who is knowledgeable of policies and procedures and the need for active recruitment and retention of a talented and diverse graduate student population.
We are fortunate that Dr. Möller has agreed to provide graduate program leadership for our College, and I hope you will join me in welcoming her to this new role.
