Chezare A. Warren, '05 Elementary Education, recently delivered a TED Talk as part of the TED-Ed Educator Talks program.
Dr. Warren's talk was titled The Difference Between False Empathy and True Support. There's a right way and a wrong way to do empathy. So, how do we get it right? He unpacks the source of false empathy and explains the key shift in perspective we need to build healthy relationships and truly support others.
Warren is an associate professor of education policy and teaching and learning (secondary) at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development. He is also an author, artist, and nationally recognized race and intersectional justice scholar. In the Fall of 2022, Dr. Warren was the featured speaker for the College of Education's Dean's Distinguished Speaker Series.
