Dean Chrystalla Mouza has announced three administrative appointments within the College of Education.
Curtis Mason, teaching associate professor, EPOL, has been appointed as the associate dean for undergraduate programs. He will coordinate the College's undergraduate offerings, provide leadership for our undergraduate academic programs, direct academic advising, and ensure responsive and student-focused support services. He succeeds the retiring Sarah McCarthey.
Helen Neville, professor EPSY, will serve as the 2024-25 interim head of the Department of Curriculum & Instruction, succeeding the retiring Micki Ostrosky. Dr. Neville has received numerous recognitions and honors and is a world leader in the counseling psychology community. She has served as President of two divisions of the American Psychological Association (APA) and on the board of directors of the Association of Black Psychologists, among many other professional honors.
Yoon Pak has been re-appointed as the head of the Department of Educational Policy, Organization & Leadership. Pak was first named the interim head in 2016 and has been at the department's helm as permanent head since 2019. Under Dr. Pak’s leadership, EPOL fosters an interdisciplinary understanding of education policy and practice, drawing from different epistemological traditions. During her tenure, Dr. Pak achieved significant milestones and has been a critical member of the College’s leadership team.
