The Center for Social and Behavioral Science (CSBS) has named its Policy & Research Legislative Fellows for 2024-25, which features two College of Education doctoral students.
Minjoo Chong and Thong Trinh were selected for their skills, research expertise, and passion for public policy. Each member of the cohort is working on a policy project with a local member of the Illinois legislature.
Chong is an Education Policy, Organization, & Leadership student working with State Senator Paul Faraci. The primary goal of her project is to conduct a thorough analysis of educational institutions in the U.S. and abroad to formulate policy recommendations that promote innovation and improvement in higher education institutions across Illinois.
Trinh is the Edwin J. O'Leary Fellow and Ph.D. student in higher education. Over the summer, he worked on a project with State Senator Chapin Rose to explore innovative funding and governance models to reduce administrative barriers, enhance efficiency, and improve outcomes for students and institutions.
