Congratulations to Gloriana Gonzalez Rivera, professor, Curriculum & Instruction, Mary Herrmann, teaching assistant professor, Education Policy, Organization and Leadership, and Mike Tissenbaum, associate professor, Educational Psychology, on being named to the inaugural Affiliates at the Siebel Center for Design.
Gonzalez Rivera is the Principal Investigator for engaging teachers in integrating human-centered design for geometry problem-based instruction. Students will use design thinking to solve a problem relevant to their community. Herrmann is integrating human-centered design thinking into her leadership courses and contributing to immersive experiences for school superintendents. Tissenbaum explores how digital games, simulations, and mobile tech can revolutionize learning spaces and promote inclusive computing and engineering curricula for underrepresented youth.
The program allows affiliates to collaborate with SCD teams to shape projects and contributions in areas such as teaching human-centered design (HCD), applying it in STEM, Humanities, Social Sciences, K-12 education, communities, and the corporate world. This first affiliate program will launch on October 10.
