Lorenzo Baber, professor Education Policy, Organization & Leadership, and director of the Office of Community College Research and Leadership, will host a talk titled The Unfinished Legacy of Brown vs. Board of Education.
The event will take place at Parkland College, 2400 W. Bradley Ave. Champaign, on February 25 from 5 - 7 p.m. in the cafeteria in the school's U-Wing.
Baber's talk will offer a general overview of Brown's transformative impact on expanding opportunities for postsecondary education and the ongoing challenges that make education for all an unfinished journey, even 70 years later.
An interactive discussion will explore how local collaborations can continue to build on Brown's promise while addressing persistent inequalities. This event is open to the public and free to attend.
