Application deadline: February 20, 2023
The College is pleased to announce the 2023-24 College of Education Public Engagement Fellows Program. Public Engagement Fellows will play an important role in helping the College of Education create a values framework for publicly engaged research, develop a strategic plan for public engagement, and engage their communities in ways consistent with the values framework defined by the committee of Fellows and Public Engagement staff. The program offers modest grants of $6,500 to support fellows’ community-engaged research work.
Fellows will work collaboratively at the College level, but successful candidates are also expected to have their own community-engaged research projects with an educational community partner. Educational community partners include schools, educational nonprofits, after school programs, summer camps, and community colleges located in Illinois. Projects will serve as case studies to inform the values framework and strategic plan.
The Public Engagement Fellows Program is open to full-time faculty with their primary appointment in the College of Education. A maximum of four faculty fellows will be selected for the 2023-24 academic year.
Faculty at the assistant professor level are especially encouraged to apply.
