Dr. Mila Thomas Fuller, assistant director of online programs at the College of Education and president of the board of directors for the International Society for Technology in Education, will serve as a guest moderator for a breakout session at the June 16 All-Staff Retreat for Minority Recruitment and Retention at the Hilton Garden Inn in Champaign. Fuller will moderate the session "Women & the Road to Leadership" for leaders from the Champaign Unit 4 School District and in the community.
Other topics will include keys to effectively leading as a person of color, education for a changing society, and the power of a trauma-informed community.
The keynote speaker of the retreat will be Dr. Pedro Noguera, an author and distinguished professor of education at the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA. Dr. Noguera is one of America’s most important voices for a healthy public education, focusing on the ways in which schools are in influenced by social and economic conditions.
