Gloriana Gonzalez, professor Curriculum & Instruction, has been invited to present at the 2025 LatMath Conference at the Institute for Pure & Applied Mathematics at UCLA.
The Conference will take place March 6 - 8 on the UCLA campus. Gonzalez will discuss her NSF-funded project that engages math teachers in designing and implementing geometry lessons using a human-centered design approach. She was a Visiting Scholar at the Design School Kolding in Denmark, which sparked her interest in applying geometry to sustainable fashion design.
This research conference will feature plenary talks by leading researchers, career panels, professional development opportunities, and scientific sessions in Algebra/Number Theory, Combinatorics, Harmonic Analysis, PDEs & Differential Geometry, Numerical Analysis and Computational Mathematics, Machine Learning, Mathematical Biology, Statistics, Data Analysis, and Math Education.
IPAM fosters the interaction of mathematics with a broad range of science and technology, builds new interdisciplinary research communities, promotes mathematical innovation, and engages and transforms the world through mathematics.
