Arcasia James-Gallaway, doctoral student in Education Policy, Organization & Leadership, has been selected as a 2019 Ford Foundation Fellow.
James-Gallaway was one of 36 students selected, nation-wide, for the 2019 program. It provides one year of support for individuals working to complete a dissertation leading to a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree, intended to support the final year of dissertation writing and defense.
Selected by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, fellows must show evidence of superior academic achievement, commitment to a career in teaching, as well as promise of continuing achievement as scholars and teachers. Through its Fellowship Program, the Ford Foundation seeks to increase the diversity of the nation's college and university faculties by increasing ethnic and racial diversity, maximizing the educational benefits of diversity, and increasing the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.
Congratulations to Arcasia James-Gallaway on this pretigious fellowship!
