The Dean's Office is pleased to announce that Dr. Kiel Christianson has been appointed as Chair of the Educational Psychology department, and Dr. Yoon Pak has accepted the College's offer of Head of the Education Policy, Organization & Leadership (EPOL) department.
Dr. Christianson is an internationally recognized scholar and an outstanding leader and innovator in the field of language comprehension and production. He brings to this position eight years of administrative experience as Associate Chair, as well an in-depth understanding of graduate teaching and mentoring and the research needs of undergraduate students.
Dr. Pak is a renowned scholar in the field of 20th century American educational history as it relates to racial minorities and immigrant groups. She has served as acting and interim head of EPOL since 2016, and as such, she has a thorough understanding of the complexities of social foundations, education leadership, higher education, and human resource development.
