The National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA) which is co-affiliated with the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Indiana University officially launched its new website! After ten years of operating out of the same website to meet its mission of being the online go-to resource for all things assessment, the hope is that the new website is easier to navigate and more user-friendly while still as useful as ever for all of your assessment needs.
We invite you to peruse the new website and browse through the resources. For a brief overview of the website, please watch this video of Dr. Natasha Jankowski, NILOA Director, speaking about what you can expect to find on the site. Of special interest may be the New to Assessment webpage which includes a collection of open-access resources introducing the basics of assessing student learning. It is a recommended starting point for those who might be exploring the field of assessment for the first time.
Do you need resources that are relevant to your specific role or for working with a particular group internal or external to your institution? NILOA has also curated content based on specific audiences. Most of NILOA’s resources are created with multiple audiences in mind, but some are more applicable than others for specific groups. This webpage might also be a useful place to begin delving into the various assessment resources.
Hopefully you like the new website, and feel free to offer any feedback you may have that can help improve usability! NILOA would like to thank Tech Services at the College of Education for the support they provided during the launch process, and Erick Montenegro, NILOA Communications Coordinator and EPOL Doctoral Candidate, for his tireless efforts in website development.
You can follow NILOA on Twitter and sign-up to receive their monthly newsletter to keep up with what's new in the assessment landscape.
