Kelly Searsmith is featured in the University of Illinois Graduate College's One Story video series. The new and continuing series of short documentaries shows diverse pathways to and through graduate education at U of I and gives an uplifting message about how transformative these experiences can be.
Kelly's story shares how her late-life diagnosis with autism, subsequent advocacy and mentoring, and passion for learning have led her to pursue graduate study in education. She hopes that stories like hers will inspire others to believe graduate education is possible for them and will help people with disabilities become more visible and better included in the campus community.
