The College of Education is proud to announce that Dr. Meghan Burke, associate professor in the Department of Special Education, has been selected as a University Scholar for AY 2020-21.
The University Scholars Program was created to honor and reward outstanding faculty members within the University of Illinois System. Burke was nominated for this award by her peers, and selected from a pool of extremely talented nominees. As a University Scholar, Burke joins a small company of distinguished colleagues who have received this designation in recognition of outstanding scholarly contributions as members of the faculty. This company currently includes Burke's colleague Dr. Hedda Meadan-Kaplansky, from the Department of Special Education.
The award consists of an allocation of $15,000 each year for the next three years starting with AY 2020-21. This coming academic year, the Urbana campus will release an official announcement via the News Bureau of Burke's selection as a University Scholar, and will hold an event to recognize and honor this achievement. We will share this information with College of Education audiences when it becomes available.
