Congratulations to Dinah Armstead, PhD candidate in Global Studies in Education and Education Policy, member of the three-person AgriWater Tech Consulting startup team selected as part of the iVenture Accelerator's sixth annual cohort.
With this new crop, iVenture Accelerator, powered by Gies College of Business, is providing funding and business consulting support for 39 students within 11 startups. AgriWater Tech Consulting designs zero-waste ionizer devices that clean water for agricultural, residential, and commercial use.
Armstead is an international traveler and speaks French among other languages. Her research focuses on intercultural competence. Her dissertation centers around determining the disparity and bias preparation and treatment of students of color in regards to international study abroad experiences. She has been a mentor in CU 1-to-1 Mentoring, a school-based program in Urbana-Champaign, for seven years. Armstead has received a Hardie Scholarship, among others, is also an academic advisor, and generally a ray of energy!
