The Humanities Research Institute is hosting a presentation by Bhakti Verma, a Curriculum & Instruction Ph.D. student, College of Education director of public engagement Emily Stone, and Traci Barkley, director of Sola Gratia Farm.
The presentation is on March 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Levis Faculty Center, room 422.
This panel will discuss the collaboration between Verma and Sola Gratia to promote wellness and education in Urbana public schools as part of a larger “farm to school” movement. As a public engagement research assistant, Verma has been working to improve access to healthy food and nutrition education in the Urbana schools and to develop a system for evaluating the district’s implementation of a state-wide school wellness policy.
The panel discussion is free and open to the public.
