The Ethnography of the University Initiative (EUI) is proud to announce the launch of its undergraduate research journal PEER REVIEW: The Undergraduate Research Journal of the Ethnography of the University Initiative. Our inaugural issue is slated for issuance on May 1, 2014. Peer Review will be an open-access online journal hosted through UIUC’s University Library.
We are currently looking for a graduate student to serve as Senior Editor, working with the journal’s undergraduate student Managing Editors, faculty mentors, and the journal Advisory Board. Advanced graduate students with teaching, mentoring, writing and/or editing experience preferred, although any graduate student with substantial relevant experience will be considered. Familiarity with publishing software would be helpful; comfort with learning new technologies a plus. Commitment to working in Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters is essential.
This is an hourly position ($20/hour); we anticipate an average of 5 hours per week. PLEASE NOTE: this is not a tuition/fee waiver generating position.
Please provide a cover letter outlining your interest and relevant experience, graduate level, a CV, and two letters of reference. Deadline for application is September 27; finalists will be contacted shortly thereafter for interview. We anticipate a start date by mid-October. Please submit all applications electronically (as one document if possible) to eui-info@illinois.edu. Please put “Journal Editor” in the subject line.
