  • Carnegie Mellon EPP MS Program

    This year, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Department of Engineering and Public Policy will add 12 new students to its professional Master’s degree program in Engineering and Public Policy (EPP).  CMU’s EPP Master’s program provides students with the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology and public policy, addressing the implications of emerging technologies on organizations and society.  EPP students go on to global careers in government, business, consulting, academia, and nonprofits.  The program is particularly strong in the following areas:  energy systems, transportation, climate and environment, information and communication technology, artificial intelligence, risk analysis, and technology innovation policy.

    The U.S. Department of Energy’s Grid Deployment Office (GDO) and Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) are seeking candidates for the Clean Energy Innovator Fellowship program who have an interest in the clean energy transition.  Innovator Fellows will have a hands-on learning experience participating on projects that the Host Institutions identify as critical to enhancing grid resilience and/or advancing decarbonization while ensuring energy affordability and grid reliability.

  • Columbia Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE)

    The Columbia Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program is a 10-week, fully funded summer research program that gives students access to research experience and professional development at Columbia and the chance to be mentored by STEM faculty and professionals.  This year's program will run from May 30 – August 3, 2024.  There is no application fee and no program fees for students.  In addition, students will be provided with Housing, Dining, a Summer living stipend, Travel reimbursement, and Campus Amenities Access.

  • Community Energy Innovation Prize - Seeking Student Applicants

    The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is administering the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Community Energy Innovation Prize and is seeking both student and community organization applicants for funding.  The Community Energy Innovation Prize is designed to fund student groups and organizations that are creating a more inclusive and equitable innovation ecosystem in climate and renewable energy technologies.  In the Collegiate Track, a total prize pool of $450,000 is available for student-led teams to work alongside a community partner on a project related to the clean energy transition.

    The "Power Reading Course" is designed to help students improve their reading speed, concentration, comprehension and productivity. This is a non-graded, non-credit, twelve session course that meets for 50 minutes on a M-W or T-TH sequence. Sessions will be available twice a semester. Books and materials will be provided. A materials fee of $15.00 will be assessed each student.

  • Cyber Security Scholarship available for Fall 2023

    The application for the Illinois Cyber Security Scholars Program (ICSSP) for Fall 2023 is now open to Grainger College of Engineering undergraduate or graduate students who want to specialize in Cyber Security/Privacy, or School of Information Sciences graduate students in the MSIM or PhD program.

    This scholarship program is a CyberCorps Scholarship for Service (SFS) program at UIUC that provides funding for full tuition and a generous stipend.
