Head and neck cancer patients whose eating habits aligned with the Alternative Healthy Eating Index-2010 at diagnosis were significantly more likely to survive three years later, according to a study that compared the patient mortality rates associated with several eating plans. Christian A. Maino Vieytes, a predoctoral fellow in nutritional sciences, was the first author of the study.
