  • Insects explode onscreen at this year’s Insect Fear Film Festival – and in real life

The 2016 Insect Fear Film Festival will feature films of cockroaches that start fires through spontaneous combustion and lava-spewing tarantulas. There are real-life arthropods that defend themselves in ways that are nearly as spectacular, said U. of I. entomology professor May Berenbaum, founder of the festival.
