  • Will free SATs improve higher-education equity in Illinois?

    Professor Eboni Zamani-Gallaher

Illinois recently switched accountability tests for high school students, replacing the controversial PARCC exam with the SAT college entrance exam. Swapping one controversial standardized exam for another is unlikely to boost the numbers of minority and low-income students who pursue postsecondary education, says Eboni Zamani-Gallaher, director of the Office of Community College Research and Leadership. Zamani-Gallaher also is a professor of higher education/community college leadership.
