    Janice Harrington will be reading from her new book of poetry, “Primitive: The Art and Life of Horace H. Pippin,” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at a Creative Writers Showcase event, sponsored by the Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities. The reading is on the third floor of Levis Faculty Center, 919 W. Illinois St., Urbana. The event will include jazz from trumpet player Justin Copeland, bassist Crystal Rebone and drummer Andy Wheelock, all graduate students in the Illinois School of Music.
