  • Illinois theatre department opens season with plays addressing injustice, revenge

    The Illinois theatre department is exploring themes of justice, injustice, revenge and redemption in its opening productions. “Gem of the Ocean” and “Titus Andronicus” open this month at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.

    “Gem of the Ocean” features Latrel Crawford as Eli, J’Laney Jenkins as Citizen Barlow (seated), Lisa Gaye Dixon as Aunt Ester and Charence Higgins as Black Mary.
