Hello, everyone.
The Library would like to remind you of some key support services available to you as teaching faculty from the Nursing Library Liaisons:
Customized Instruction Sessions
Librarians can provide customized instruction sessions, either built into your curriculum or as an independent workshop. We will work with you to meet learning objectives on utilizing information resources on evidence-based practice, nursing theory, patient care, etc. A minimum of three weeks notice would be appreciated.
Online Consultations
If you need assistance searching a library database or researching a topic, please schedule an individual consultation with a librarian. You are also welcome to refer students to us directly for help with assignments or their research. We are available to meet online only via Zoom or WebEx.
Library Materials posted in Blackboard Courses
The Library can integrate many of our electronic collections within your courses on Blackboard. Library staff can create links to library resources and insert them into your course for you. All you need to do is provide us with your list of resources and add Library staff as a Course Builder in your Blackboard course. Here is where you can request course reserves for your Blackboard site:
Here is a guide that that has additional information on course reserves:
Double checking Library Links in Your Blackboard Site
The library switched to a new catalog system in June. There is a chance that the library links in your Blackboard site (e.g. articles, books, or e-journals) are linking to records in our old system. These links will stop working at the end of August. Here is an example of what the old links will start with:

Here is an example of what a direct link to the catalog will look like:

The Library can help you to fix these links. Please reach out and we can discuss your options.
Here is more information on the new catalog system:
Questions? Please contact your Nursing Library Liaison for your campus to discuss how we can support you, your colleagues, and your students.
