On January 24, 2025, ISSS sent the following message to all international students and scholars regarding international travel:
In January, International Student and Scholar Services sent an e-mail that alerted our international population to an executive order that may affect future international travel. Although there have been no further updates since our last communication, we are sending this message to remind our international population of the scope of the order and provide general reminders for travel.
The executive order asks various government agencies to produce a report no later than March 21, of countries that warrant a “partial or full suspension” of their citizens’ admission to the United States. No further guidance or an official list of impacted countries has been issued at this time. However, it is important for our international population to be aware that the rules regarding travel and re-entry could change suddenly. Travelers should assess their own comfort level with international travel using the current information available.
ISSS encourages all travelers to review following travel guidance and have all the necessary documents for their specific visa type:
We are aware that there is a considerable amount of anxiety surrounding travel and ISSS is here to support you. We are closely monitoring the situation and will communicate the latest information to our international faculty, staff, students, and scholars when it becomes available.
Sincerely,
International Student and Scholar Services
