The We CU Community Engaged Scholars Program empowers students to make a positive impact while building their resume and becoming more connected to the Champaign-Urbana community.
We CU is open to all students interested in service work, whether you are already involved in service or seeking an opportunity to get involved. In addition to dozens of semester-long service projects, We CU offers resources to deepen your impact in the community, including workshops and training opportunities, mini-grants to offset any costs associated with your service project and guidance on how to highlight your service activities in your resume and during interviews. Additionally, students who complete 20 hours of service each term receive campuswide recognition for their service.
We CU will hold a virtual info session on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 4 p.m. During the info session, we will cover the types of service you can track for recognition (hint: most service counts!), our mini-grants program, and the workshops and training we offer to help you make the most of your service experience. Sign up for the info session even if you cannot attend to receive a link to the recording and instructions for getting started.
