University of Illinois System employees are advised to exercise caution when receiving unsolicited emails, particularly those related to retirement or financial services. Scam messages occasionally circulate that may appear to come from official sources.

Are you contributing to a supplemental retirement and investment plan? If not, now may be a good time to start!

The University 403(b) Plan is one of three supplemental retirement plans available to help you start or increase your retirement savings. Enrollment is voluntary and available at any time. There is no employer contribution on the supplemental retirement plans.

As a participant in the 403(b) retirement plan, we understand that market volatility can raise questions and concerns. While short-term shifts can be unsettling, it’s important to stay informed and focused on long-term goals.

Free retirement and investment planning seminars will be held in April by Fidelity Investments, TIAA, and SURS. All University of Illinois employees are invited to attend – registration is required.

You may be eligible to defer unused vacation and compensable sick leave into the University 403(b) or State 457 retirement plans.

In 2016, contribution limits remain the same, and the State Deferred Compensation 457 Plan will begin offering a Roth option.
