Kevin Frederick, Ed.M. '18 C&I, was named to Scholastic's Teacher Fellows Cohort. One of 12 educators from across the country, Frederick was chosen by a panel of judges based on overall teaching experience, classroom practices, and more.
Frederick will receive a $2,000 stipend and at least $500 in Scholastic products and will complete a capstone project. He will also collaborate with Scholastic Education Solutions’ product development, research, and publishing teams for the duration of the school year, offering a direct pathway to their wide range of expertise and experiences in today’s classrooms.
Frederick, a first-grade teacher at Champaign's Dr. Howard Elementary, was also named Illinois Reading Educator of the Year for 2024.
