  • 2023 EERE Energy Storage Summer Internship Program

    The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Energy Storage Internship Program offers 10-week, hands-on, practical summer internships at U.S. National Laboratories. The program provides opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, and postgraduate students to conduct research related to the development of newer chemistries, battery designs, and manufacturing processes needed to usher in changes in energy storage.

  • U. Buffalo BioXFEL Summer Internship Program for Undergraduates

    The National Science Foundation BioXFEL Science and Technology Center is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its tenth annual international conference May 16-18, 2023. Our annual External Advisors Meeting will be held Monday, May 15, 2023.

    The annual International BioXFEL Conference brings together experts in a variety of fields (structural biology, physics, biochemistry, and more) to discuss the most recent advances in structural biology using X-ray Free Electron Lasers (XFELs). The conference features talks by leading scientists in the field, a poster session, as well as networking, and professional development opportunities.

    The Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) is now accepting applications for the 2023 EERE Science, Technology and Policy Opportunity - Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO). As a member of the team, you will engage and interact closely with Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) staff and National Laboratory scientists on research and development of technology for building systems integration and optimization to produce significant energy savings in the commercial real estate market.

    SETO applications are reviewed (and offers are made) two times per year with an application deadline for this opportunity on June 15th, 2023. Recommendations are due June 18th, 2023, so make sure your recommendations have been received by then in order for your application to be considered. The application review process takes approximately 3-4 months.

  • New Mexico Lab-Embedded Entrepreneur Program (NM-LEEP)

    Who should apply? U.S. Citizen entrepreneurs with a feasible technological innovation ithat has gained some traction and are in need of investors, willing to relocated to Northern New Mexico for the duration ofthe two year program

    What is it? The New Mexico Lab-Embedded Entrepreneur Program (NM-LEEP) matches entrepreneurs with seed capital, a large network of mentors, customers, and investors and the unique expertise and resources of Los Alamos National Laboratory (Los Alamos) and Sandia National Laboratories (Sandia).

  • Purdue Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)


    SURF is a 10-week-long paid research opportunity for undergraduates enrolled in US universities. The Purdue SURF application opens Dec 1, 2024. Priority deadline is Jan 15, 2025 with rolling admissions after this deadline. This program runs from May 25- August 8, 2025 SURF Students receive a summer stipend of $6,500. Send any summer research questions to  eur@purdue.edu

    Also check out the Pathways Scholars cohort of SURF, if you are interested in graduate school and a PhD. Selected Pathways Scholars receive $10k, which includes summer stipend ($6500) and is expected to cover the cost of housing ($2500 summer housing allowance) and travel (up to $1000 travel reimbursement).

  • FBI Counterterrorism and Forensic Science Research Unit Fellowship

    This project involves the development of extraction and instrumental methods for the analysis of residues from detonators (primary explosives) used in criminal cases.  Under the guidance of a mentor, you will perform sophisticated laboratory techniques using emerging technologies, judge the completeness and accuracy of research results, perform statistical analyses on data, and prepare written manuscripts for FBI review and publication in peer-reviewed journals.   • ORISE DOE-STP Fellowship

    The Grid Controls and Communications (GCC) Division of the Office of Electricity (OE) manages research, development, and demonstration programs aimed at modernizing the Nation’s electricity delivery system including secure communications, controls and protection systems. The Division is responsible for engineering end-to-end systems for communications, grid modeling, measurement and controls, and operations and planning.

  • NASA Tech Leap Prize

    To support future missions, NASA seeks to advance transformative solutions that address one or more of NASA’s technology shortfalls. Up to nine winners will receive up to $500,000 each to build their payloads plus the opportunity to test them on suborbital, hosted orbital, or parabolic flights.

  • JPL Summer Internship Program

    The JPL Summer Internship Program offers 10-week, full-time, summer internship opportunities at JPL to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a number of enrichment activities, including tours, lectures and career advisement, arranged by the JPL Education Office.
     
    - Summer internships begin in May and June, on the first business day of each week.

    - Participants receive a monetary award, given in monthly disbursements, for the period of the internship. Award amounts vary and are subject to change.

    - A supplemental housing and travel allowance is provided for participants whose institution is outside the 50-mile radius of JPL.
