Under the supervision of Native Lands Partnerships (NLP) Director Starlyn Miller and in concert with other TWS staff, the intern will research NLP identified topics and provide briefing papers to inform TWS staff. Some of the proposed topics include: Indigenous Knowledge, Food Sovereignty and Land Justice.
In addition, the NLP Intern would play an important role in supporting an inclusive organizational culture that is grounded in trust and accountability to shared goals and outcomes. Under the supervision of Starlyn Miller, the intern would:
Assist in NLP intranet content development related to Native American Heritage Month (November 2022). Research and compile information about local and regional Indigenous-led organizations and leadership councils across the nation.Identify Indigenous-led organizations the serve women, youth and support the preservation of Indigenous cultural practices.Research and compile information on Indigenous led businesses as a resource for TWS staff.Assist in the development of TWS’s annual on-line staff survey related to planned and ongoing Native Lands Partnerships work.
