    The IURA program is a collaborative cohort of accomplished and experienced students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Ambassadors are responsible for promoting undergraduate research on the UIUC campus and helping the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) to develop and maintain student-focused programs that represent UIUC’s diverse array of disciplines. Deadline for Applications: April 23, 2019 at 11:59pm

  • Make-A-Difference Scholarships

    The Illinois Club is now accepting scholarship applications online for next year. The awards offered are:

    • Make-A-Difference Awards - $2,000 each, three to five awards
    • Judith Life Ikenberry Fine Arts Award - $3,600
    • Susan T. Haney Social Work Award - $3,000
    • Isabelle Purnell Education Awards - $2,000 each, three to five awards

  • MERGE 2019

    Minority Juniors and Seniors interested in graduate school are encouraged to apply to MERGE 2019. The program dates are September 26-28, taking place at our very own UIUC campus. Deadline for all required materials is on August 9, 2019.

  • Molitoris Leadership Scholarship for Undergraduates

    $1,000.00 scholarship to be awarded.  

    Minimum criteria:

    a.  GPA of 3.0 or higher

    b.  Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in a transportation-related field, such as transportation engineering, planning,finance, or logistics

    c.  Plans to pursue a career in a transportation-related field.

    d.  Applicants for the Molitoris Leadership Scholarship must specifically address the issue of leadership on their personal statement.

    Applications must be returned to your local chapter no later than November 4, 2013

     

  • Multicultural Engineering Recruitment for Graduate Education (MERGE)

    MERGE participants are eligible for an application fee waiver when applying to a Grainger Engineering graduate program and are automatically awarded $700 of professional development funds if they matriculate in a Grainger Engineering graduate program.

    Applications are due on September 21, 2020.

    To learn more, join us for the virtual 2020 Multicultural Engineering Recruitment for Graduate Education (MERGE) Event on October 16, 2020, 2-5 pm Central Time. During this event, you will learn about applying to graduate school, funding your studies, and becoming a successful researcher. You will also hear from current students, faculty, and graduate programs staff, and will be able to engage in live Q&A sessions. Following the event, there will be additional opportunities to virtually visit with your program of interest.

  • NACME Corporate Scholarship Program

    The NACME Corporate Scholars Program offers a one-time $5000 tuition scholarship coupled with a paid summer internship.  

    Students who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply: 

    • United States Citizen or Permanent Resident and an Underrepresented Minority (URM) 
    • Enrolled full time and/or a full-time matriculating student at a NACME partner university 
    • Majoring in Engineering and/or Computer Science fields

  • National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Scholarship

  • NCSA REU-INCLUSION

    National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) is seeking students to apply for a 10-week paid summer software-in-research training program. Successful applicants will work full-time on one of socially-impactful INCLUSION research projects that develop and use open source software.  Applications must be submitted by March 18, 2019 to receive full consideration. Program session: May 20 – July 26, 2019

  • NSF Engineering Research Center for Advanced Technologies for Preservation of Biological Systems (ATP-Bio)

    The Advanced Technologies for the Preservation of Biological Systems (ATP-Bio), an NSF Engineering Research Center, is excited to announce its Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)!

    The ATP-Bio REU is a 10-week research internship targeting STEM students nationwide, including community college students, who have not participated in prior research. Students will spend their summer doing exciting, cutting edge research to help “stop biological time” and radically extend the ability to bank and transport cells, aquatic embryos, tissue, skin, whole organs, microphysiological systems (“organs-on-a-chip”), and even whole organisms through a team approach to build advanced biopreservation technologies. ATP-Bio REU students will work at the University of Minnesota (UMN) or Mass General Hospital (MGH) in Boston, MA. Lodging and travel will be provided, along with a stipend.

    ATP-Bio aims to enhance the diversity of future scientific communities; we strongly encourage applications from underserved, underrepresented, and underresourced groups.

  • Purdue Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP)

    The Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) is a pathway to graduate education at Purdue University. This program is designed to provide equal access and opportunities to underrepresented and diverse students by preparing students for Graduate School by offering eight-weeks intensive research experiences, and graduate school resources that contributes to student's professional and academic growth.

    Whether you've already applied to graduate programs or not, you may want to look into the Samvid Scholarship, which provides up to $100,000 for two years of graduate study leading to one of the following degrees: MD, MBA, JD, MPP, MPH, EdD, or MS/MA in social sciences or STEM fields.     Critical Skills Master's Program

    Sandia's Critical Skills Master's Program (CSMP) is a special, entry-level hiring program, which provides new or recent technical bachelor's degree candidates the opportunity to pursue a fully funded Masters of Science degree. The CSMP program is designed to attract talent pursuing key disciplines aligned with Sandia's national security mission, including Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity and Electrical Engineering.     Master's Fellowship Program

    Exceptional candidates with bachelor's degrees can receive fully funded master's of science degrees through Sandia's Master's Fellowship Program.     The Grainger College of Engineering awarded over 300 applicants scholarships for the academic year 2022-2023 through Scholarships for Continuing Students. Grainger Engineering scholars earned scholarships from $500 to $10,000 based upon the strength of their application. There are 4 types of scholarships which include named scholarships, corporate scholarships, unrestricted scholarships, and scholarships set up for specific student organizations. Scholarships are for one academic year, unless otherwise noted on your scholarship notification.

  • Seeking Applicants for Illinois Undergraduate Research Ambassadors Program

    The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is looking for motivated and personable undergraduate students who are excited to introduce and support peers through the Illinois research experience. Please encourage your experienced student researchers to become an Illinois Undergraduate Research Ambassador and help other students along their research journeys.  This is a paid position with a stipend of $360 per semester (workload is, on average, 2-3 hours per week). 
    The deadline to apply is December 10, 2021 at 11:59pm.

  • Sharon D. Banks Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship

    $2,000.00 scholarship to be awarded.  

    Minimum criteria:

  • SHELL Incentive Fund Scholarship

    Application must be completed and received by May 31, 2013!

    Shell Oil Company offers $5,000 annual scholarships through its Shell Incentive Fund Scholarship program to under-represented students pursuing an undergraduate degree in a specific technical field of study. The scholarship can be used to pay for tuition and/or school expenses.

  • SmithGroup Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Scholarship Program

    The SmithGroup Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Scholarship Program provides students from historically underrepresented demographics with the opportunity to attain their professional goals while advancing the architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) industry and improving the built environment.  Applicants must be current undergraduate (at least a junior level standing) or graduate students in an accredited architecture, interior design, planning, landscape architecture or engineering program in the United States. 

    This scholarship includes a one-time award of $6,000 to offset the student's tuition at their current academic institution (5 scholarships are awarded each year).  Additionally, the scholarship recipients serve as paid summer interns at SmithGroup offices across the United States (Internship is a program requirement).
