    As a Hardware and Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work on our core Consumer Hardware products. The teams you work with design, develop and deploy next generation consumer hardware while ensuring that this cutting-edge equipment is reliable. You’ll work closely with engineers to improve our hardware to meet Google's standards of quality and reliability, and your work has the potential to impact many of Google users. Depending on your background and experience, you will receive a project placement in ASIC Hardware/Software Engineering, Electrical Hardware Engineering, Hardware Test Engineering, or Silicon Engineering.

  • Goldwater Scholarship Information Sessions & Workshop

    If you are a sophomore or junior in a STEM field who has had meaningful research experiences and you plan on pursuing a Ph.D. in science, math, or engineering, the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship is for you!

    Eligibility
    Sophomores and juniors who in the upper quarter of their class (typically a minimum of 3.5 GPA) and who are U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or permanent residents are eligible to apply

    The Goldwater scholarship provides $7,500 per full academic year for undergraduate educational expenses.  Sophomores can expect to receive funds for a maximum of two years, while juniors can expect to receive funds for a maximum of one year.  All applicants MUST be committed to pursuing a Ph.D. in the research fields of mathematics, science, or engineering. 

    Students who plan to study medicine are eligible ONLY if they plan on a research career rather than a career as a medical doctor or veterinarian in a private practice.  Typical fields of study include, but are not limited to, applied science, astronomy, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, computer science, entomology, environmental science, genetics, geology, mathematics, microbiology, neurobiology, physics, zoology, and all fields of engineering.  Illinois may nominate up to 4 students for the Goldwater Scholarship.

  • Gilman Scholarship

    The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity. To be eligible for the Gilman Program, applicants must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program or internship. The Institute of International Education has administered the program since its inception in 2001.

  • Dad Association Scholarship

    The Dads Association will award 6 scholarships in the amount of $2,000 in January 2013. To be eligible, the student must have an application for financial assistance on file with the Office of Financial Aid and submit a scholarship application.

  • Cyber Security Scholarship available for Fall 2023

    The application for the Illinois Cyber Security Scholars Program (ICSSP) for Fall 2023 is now open to Grainger College of Engineering undergraduate or graduate students who want to specialize in Cyber Security/Privacy, or School of Information Sciences graduate students in the MSIM or PhD program.

    This scholarship program is a CyberCorps Scholarship for Service (SFS) program at UIUC that provides funding for full tuition and a generous stipend.

    - The Center for Mechanical Control of Chemistry (CMCC) is a new research center funded by the National Science Foundation

    - Each summer, starting with this coming summer, the Center will have a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program

    Physics, chemistry, math, computer science, all engineering majors are welcome to apply 

    Awards are given to support women undergraduates seeking to study or teach science, mathematics, and/or engineering via the research pathway to graduate studies. More than eight (8) women in science (i.e., physics and chemistry), math, computer science, and engineering fields will be selected for the 2023 – 2024 cohort. Up to $12,000 will be awarded to selected scholars: $5,000 for the fall and spring semesters (At least 10 hours/week doing research) and $7,000 for 10 weeks in the summer (Approximately 30-35 hours/week doing research).

    Cargill Global Scholars receive an annual scholarship award of $2,500 for up to two years, participate in a fully-funded three-day leadership seminar during the first year of the program and a fully funded Global Leadership Seminar to be held at one of Cargill’s global locations during the second year of the program, and are paired with a Cargill leader who will serve as a mentor.
