  • Technical Research and Development Intern 2023 (Paid)

    The paid Summer Internship Program is an opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a full-time BNSF employee. As an intern at BNSF, you’ll be given real-life, impactful assignments that will put your skills and education into practice. Your summer project will combine classroom experience and real-life business situations to provide value-added work to BNSF. 

    The program is designed to identify students BNSF hires as full-time Management Trainees after graduation. During your summer internship, you will get the chance to network with peers, our Business Resource Groups, and Senior Leaders throughout the BNSF network.  

    Anticipated Start Date: June 2023  Number of Positions: 1  Salary Range: $4,000 per month

    The Oak Ridge office of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s Office of Environmental Management (EM) is seeking fellows to engage in projects and activities related to DOE’s Legacy Clean-up Missions at East Tennessee Technology Park, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and Y-12 National Security Complex sites.     The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Science, Technology and Policy (STP) Program is seeking to develop leaders in energy efficiency and renewable energy policy. The EERE STP program provides an opportunity for highly talented scientists and engineers to participate in policy-related projects at EERE Offices in Washington, D.C.

    ORISE is continuing normal program operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. This opportunity will be offered as long as Department of Energy Headquarters is able to complete the onboarding process and ensure a meaningful experience to participants.     The Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) is now accepting applications for the 2023 EERE Science, Technology and Policy Opportunity - Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO). As a member of the team, you will engage and interact closely with Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) staff and National Laboratory scientists on research and development of technology for building systems integration and optimization to produce significant energy savings in the commercial real estate market.

    SETO applications are reviewed (and offers are made) two times per year with an application deadline for this opportunity on June 15th, 2023. Recommendations are due June 18th, 2023, so make sure your recommendations have been received by then in order for your application to be considered. The application review process takes approximately 3-4 months.
